The Civil Peace Service (CPS) is a programme for violence prevention, civil conflict transformation and peacebuilding. Together with local partner organisations, nine German peace and development organisations are working towards a world in which conflicts are resolved without violence.GIZ's CPS is part of the joint government-civil society organisation CPS and involves more than 100 international and over 130 national expadvisors in 21 countries. They provide long-term support to local people in their commitment to justice, human rights and peace. The CPS focuses on topics such as mediation and dialogue, dealing with the past, psychosocial support and conflict-sensitive media work.
